My Sin Is Ever Before Me (Cape Clear) demo excerpt

"At The Sea" was written… at the sea! While visiting Hilary’s mom in Big Sur. It’s now at SoundClick. Weird recording, but most of mine are!

Cyber-Psalms are my attempt to publish a weekly prayer often set to melody. Now that I have an Internet connection that is a bit more stable I might try to put up some recordings. We’ll see!

Scripture Songs

I have recorded a number of my songs based on Scriptures and they are available at soundclick.com/davidker.

Tripping on the Trinity has a pseudo-choral rendition of 2 Corinthians 13:13.

Grasshopper Greek: Apocalyptic Rock has Revelation 4:11 set to a rock beat. Check out the comments about “worthy is the barber.”

Love Songs

I’ve written a lot of songs for my wife, but only one is available online: Honey Bee. This is a really cool bootleg recording.

Strange Songs

I have a variety of songs posted as soundclick.com. These include a calypso song called "Iceland," and a song written for my mom called "Life Begins At 60!" One of the strangest songs I ever performed is called "Point of Departure." It’s a country-western, love-gone-wrong song using vocabulary from Discourse Analysis. One of these days I’ll have a recording available.

Sing The Greek Alphabet Song is just what it says. Two different versions: one by all my kids and another is a wild scat/blues version by our resident wild man.

Contest entries

"Revive Us Again" is a new version of an old song by William Paton Mackay. I’ve updated the language and made things a little bit funky. [Update!] I submitted the song to the CSN Hymn Mini Challenge #4, I didn’t win any prizes but it was a fun challenge and there are an amazing number of submissions. Check it out!

In early 2006, I participated in an online collaborative project called "Koo Stick." We co-wrote and performed a song called Show Me The Way. This song won Honorable Mention in the Christian Songwriter’s Network Challenge #3.
