I know some of you might wish that the Patron Saint of Curmudgeonry would disappear, but in fact it is only his blog that was hacked yesterday and deleted. Conspiracy theories will no doubt abound so I just want to say in public: It wasn’t me!
This is a real stinker for Jim and the many people who enjoy/hate his blog. He hasn’t stated his plans at this moment but in private correspondence he did say, “I’m bummed, frankly, and don’t have the energy to do it all again right now.”
I’m not going to make any Zwingli or Calvin jokes at this point. See. I didn’t make a joke. Phew, that was tough.
Jim suspects that someone guessed his password.
If you are a WordPress user it is quite easy to back up your blog. And if you use Windows Live Writer you also maintain an archive of all your posts on your hard drive.
So, if you’re rushing off now to change your password and backup your blog we can only be thankful that Jim’s pain is your gain.
By the way, Jim is on FaceBook.
