Lingamish forum dead

[Image removed due to bad mojo]

Even I have limits to the number of online projects I can juggle. The Lingamish Forum was a big fat headache. And I find that most of what I hoped to see in terms of discussion on worship etc. is happening very nicely on our various blogs. Plus, forums are so 20th century! Apologies to those of you who gave your time and energy to it.

Other things that are dying a slow death: Twitter (huh? whatsat?), Facebook (sure, I’m still updating my status once in while, but what else is there to do on that thing?).

Other things I’m still excited about: lingalinga, mozifoto, Global Voices Online, and this dear old blog.

And if you ever wonder if I do any real work, well…wouldn’t you like to know!

    Lingamish,

While I appreciate the link to my post at Cerulean Sanctum, please don’t hotlink my images. If you clean out your browser cache, you’ll see the image you hotlinked doesn’t show because I don’t allow hotlinking. So people coming here are not seeing that image, an image being served off my server and not yours.

If you like that cartoon, then copy it to your own server and link that way (and give the attribution to The New Yorker, not me). Hotlinking is very bad mojo in the Web world.

Sorry, dude. Thought I was sending link love your way…

No problem. It’s just that hotlinking images sucks bandwidth. Every time this post is loaded, it calls the image from my server.

You can still link back to my site by adding a link to an image you host, so long as you host the image. That’s the big distinction here.

    Dan
